For the dissertation, is composed of many parts, each part of it has the relevant regulations and requirements, so we should be clear about these before the dissertation writing, so that the dissertation writing is easy, today to talk to you about the dissertation abstract format and dissertation abstract examples, for your reference.

The paper should generally have an abstract, some for international exchange, and foreign language (mostly in English) abstract. It is a short statement of the content of the paper without notes and comments. Other use is to obtain the necessary information without reading the full paper. The abstract should contain the following:

(1) the purpose and importance of engaging in this research;

(2) the main content of the research, indicating what work was accomplished;

(3) the basic conclusions and research results obtained, highlighting the new insights of the paper;

(4) the significance of the conclusions or results. Although the abstract should reflect the above, the text must be very concise, and the content must be fully summarized, and the size of the paper is generally limited to no more than 5% of the word count.

For example, for a paper of 6,000 words, the abstract is generally no more than 300 words.

The abstract should not cite examples, not tell the research process, not use diagrams, not give the chemical structure formula, and not make self-evaluation.

[Example] Thesis title: The influence of celestial bodies on the Earth’s gravitational acceleration

Paper Abstract: Earth’s gravitational acceleration is an extremely important physical quantity, and with the increasing demand for accuracy in gravitational acceleration measurements, the influence of celestial bodies on Earth’s gravitational acceleration must be considered. This paper introduces the basic concept of the influence of celestial bodies (including the Sun, Moon and planets in the solar system) on the Earth’s gravitational acceleration, derives the calculation formula for the influence, and after error analysis, proves that the relative error of this formula is less than 1×10-9, which can fully meet the requirements of modern precision gravitational acceleration measurement.

The common faults in writing the abstract of a paper are, firstly, copying the text of the subheading (table of contents) or the conclusion part of the paper in the body of the paper; secondly, the content is not condensed and summarized, and the text is too long.

[Example] Thesis title: Thermal simulation models and algorithms for integrated circuits

Thesis Abstract: It is well known that various characteristic parameters of semiconductor devices are sensitive functions of temperature [such as ls(T), B(T), C1(T), Cp(T) ……]. Integrated circuits integrate a large number of components on a single coin wafer, and when the circuit is operating, the heat will be generated by the power consumption of the components, which spreads along the wafer in all directions. However, since the semiconductor wafer and the base material have thermal resistance, the temperature at each point on the chip cannot be the same. Especially for power integrated circuits, high-power components will have higher temperatures in the region so there is an uneven temperature distribution on the chip.

But in order to simplify the calculation, generally in the analysis of integrated circuit performance, often ignore this temperature difference, assuming that all components are at the same temperature. For example, the general circuit simulation program – SPICE is handled in this way. Obviously this assumption brings calculation errors to the integrated circuit. For power integrated circuits error will be even greater. Therefore, how to calculate the temperature distribution on the chip of an integrated circuit, how to calculate the circuit characteristics when the components are at different temperatures, and how to take into account the thermal and electrical interactions on the chip, is the purpose of this paper.

This paper introduces a thermal simulation model for integrated circuits and simulates the thermal circuit problem as a circuit problem, and then solves the chip temperature distribution by using a circuit simulation program. Doing so allows the speed and accuracy of the calculation to be greatly improved by using a proven circuit analysis program. Based on this model and algorithm, the authors prepared a FORTRAN program for YM-LiN-3, which determines the chip temperature distribution and also sends calculations of the circuit characteristics when the components are at different temperatures. The program was passed on a microcomputer IBM-PC and satisfactory results were obtained.

The abstract of the above-mentioned paper, with a word count of nearly 600, is obviously too long, and can be prepared in two or three hundred words if it is carefully modified (e.g., the first paragraph can be deleted, the second paragraph retains only the last sentences of it, and the third paragraph is added).

[Title] Problems and Strategies of Word Library Construction

[Abstract] The development direction of contemporary library construction is digital library, digital library is the future form of library existence, and its research and construction level will directly affect the status and role of China’s libraries in the future information age. This paper analyzes and discusses the main strategic issues and strategies that should be solved in the construction of digital libraries in view of the objective trend of digital development of libraries and from the problems faced by digital libraries in China.

【Title】Conducting Demolition and Relocation According to Law to Build a Harmonious City

【Abstract】Conducting demolition and relocation according to law and building a harmonious city is the ultimate purpose of government departments to carry out urban planning. To achieve this goal, we should study the significance of demolition and relocation according to law, explore the causes of various demolition and relocation conflicts, find out ways to solve the disputes of interests of various parties, and contribute to building a harmonious society from the perspective of improving laws and regulations and fighting for people’s interests.

【Thesis title】Research on the prevention and control measures of motor vehicle exhaust pollution and urban traffic improvement

This thesis analyzes the causes of motor vehicle exhaust pollution and discusses the adoption of various prevention and control measures aimed at reducing motor vehicle exhaust pollution emissions, and also conducts an in-depth study on urban traffic improvement. This paper first discusses the serious situation of urban air pollution caused by motor vehicle emissions in China. The causes of motor vehicle tailpipe pollution are discussed. By summarizing the development history, experience and lessons of motor vehicle pollution control at home and abroad, thesis abstract format and thesis abstract example papers should generally have an abstract, some for international exchange, and foreign language (mostly in English) abstract. It is a short statement of the content of the paper without notes and comments. Other use is not to read the full paper that can get the necessary information.
